Academics
Here, we believe in fostering holistic development through engaging activities that nurture both academic growth and social-emotional learning.
1. Circle Time
Circle time at FWS is a cherished daily ritual where students come together to build community and develop essential communication skills. Through stories, songs, and discussions led by our dedicated teachers, children learn the value of listening, sharing, and respecting each other's ideas.
2. Shelf Activities
Our curriculum includes carefully curated shelf activities designed to promote independent learning and critical thinking. From Montessori-inspired materials to hands-on science experiments, each activity is tailored to stimulate curiosity and encourage children to explore concepts at their own pace.
3. Group Activities
Collaboration is at the heart of learning. Through group activities such as collaborative projects, team games, and creative workshops, students develop teamwork, problem-solving abilities, and leadership skills in a supportive environment.
4. Dear Time
"Drop Everything And Read," is an initiative designed to encourage reading by setting aside dedicated time for everyone to read independently. Typically implemented in school, DEAR time promotes a love for reading by creating a quiet environment where students can choose their own reading material.
5.Word of the Day
Incorporating a "Word of the Day" into the school curriculum is a great way to enhance vocabulary development and encourage language skills among students.
6.Parent Engagement
We believe in the importance of a strong partnership between school and home to support student success. Regular communication through newsletters, emails, and online portals keeps parents informed. We encourage active involvement through parent-teacher meetings, where progress and concerns are discussed, and regular meetings with the principal to address broader school policies. Engaging parents in school life, such as speaking at events, serving as judges for competitions, and participating in workshops, fosters a collaborative environment. This holistic approach ensures consistent support for students, both academically and socially.
